Foods to Avoid in Summer

☀️ Summer Heat and Health Risks

Scorching heat can really drain you out or make you exhausted at the end of the day.

Hence, you must take special care of yourself during summer.

If you don’t take care, there are certain illnesses people usually suffer from, such as sun rashes, fatigue, food poisoning, infection in eyes, ears, and throat.

All infectious diseases like eye disease, called conjunctivitis, are very common in hot sun.

To prevent yourself from these illnesses, food plays a very major role.

So, understand what to eat and what not to eat.

Here are the foods you should totally avoid during summer.

🍦 Ice Creams and Cold Drinks

People generally take ice cream and cold drinks in hot climate, but they don’t understand that these things cause more heat in the body.

When you take cold drink, your body has to waste energy to generate heat and make it warm, which increases body heat.

When you take ice cream, you must know how to take it.

Take ice cream, keep it in your mouth, melt it to normal temperature, and then swallow it.

Otherwise, direct cold ice cream in your stomach is going to harm you.

Cold drinks should be totally avoided. After eating ice cream, drink water to wash away the residue.

Ice cream and cold drinks are heat-producing substances, so they should not be taken in hot climate.

Chilled tea and chilled coffee are also available, but they hurt your system too.

You should only take drinks at body temperature.

Summer is the season when bacteria are highly active.

Meat, if not frozen or cooked properly, gets contaminated very fast and increases the chances of food poisoning.

Non-vegetarian food should be avoided in all seasons.

🌶️ Spicy Food

Avoid spicy food with lots of chili and garam masalas.

They increase body heat to a great extent.

Eating spicy food causes hyperacidity, gas, and disturbs digestion.

In hot climate, spicy food also leads to excessive sweating and dehydration.

So, avoid excessive spice-rich food.

Be aware of what you are eating in hot climate. You need more liquids.

Eat fruits with high liquid content like melons.

Drink liquids like buttermilk, milk (diluted), and sharbats.

Eat less solid food and consume more liquids to stay refreshed, energetic, and full of enthusiasm.

Day is bright, so do bright things in life.

Take charge of yourself, take care of yourself, and enjoy this hot climate.
